POPCORN BURRITO

On June 17th is the first World Cup game with German participation. At 5 p.m. our national team has to prove itself against Mexico in Moscow.

In addition to the classic snacks, you can easily prepare a delicious popcorn burrito for everyone for the first Germany game. Even if you support our national team, Mexican food is just too good to say no!

There will also be suitable popcorn recipes for the following World Cup games against Sweden and South Korea.

Ingredients

  • 60 g popcorn corn butterfly
  • 2 tbsp popcorn oil
  • 2 wheat tortillas
  • 100 g minced meat (mixed or beef)
  • 1/2 - 1 onion
  • 100g kidney beans
  • 1 pepper
  • 100 grams of corn
  • 50 grams of grated cheese
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • Chili powder or chili flakes
  • Salt pepper
  • optional: 1 avocado and some lemon juice for homemade guacamole

FOR 2 POPCORN BURRITOS

First the popcorn as usual with the Prepare the popcorn loop but without salt or sugar, chop it up a bit and set it aside.

Then chop the onions and sauté them in the pan. Add the ground beef and season with salt, pepper and chili. Then the peppers can be diced and added. Let everything cook for about 5 minutes.

Drain the corn and beans and add to the pan with 1 tablespoon tomato paste. Preheat the wheat tortillas in the oven for 8 – 10 minutes (or in the microwave for approx. 30 seconds) and sprinkle with some cheese. Add the filling and some chopped popcorn. But be careful! Not too much, otherwise you won’t be able to roll up the dough properly.

If you like, you can now put the finished popcorn burritos in a casserole dish, sprinkle some cheese on each burrito and put them in the oven at 210° for about 5 minutes until the cheese has melted.

Serve with salsa sauce and guacamole.
